Description

The ideal pool water levels for pH and Total Alkalinity (TA) are 7.2-7.6 for pH and 80-150ppm(mg/l) for Total Alkalinity. Depending on the method of application, the reducer will either lower the pH or TA of the pool water. High pH can contribute to cloudy water, scale formation, bather discomfort and reduce chemical efficiency. High Alkalinity buffers the pH making it difficult to adjust.

After testing your pool water, if the pH is above 7.6 or TA above 1500ppm,correct using the appropriate instructions below. If both pH and TA are high, correct the TA before retesting and correcting the pH as required.

Application Instructions the correct pH

1. Pre-dissolve the product in a clean plastic container at a maximum rate of 100g of product per 2.2 gallons (10lts) of clean warm water. Stir well to ensure product is fully dissolved. Carefully add the resulting solution to the pool whilst the pump(s) are turned on, preferably near to the water inlets to aid distribution.

2. After a minimum of 8 hours, recheck the pH level and if necessary repeat the treatment until the ideal pH is established. Please note a number of treatments may be required.

Applications to correct TA

1. Pre-dissolve the product as above, but only pour the solution in a small spot in the deep end of the pool, preferably near ant inlets where circulation is good.

2. Re-test after a minimum of 8 hours. If the TA is still high, repeat the dose until TA falls below 150ppm(mg/l),varying location slightly but avoiding skimmers.

General Dosing Precautions

• Wear eye and face protection and ensure granules are not blown back into your face.

• Never mix with any other chemicals including cleaning products and chlorine products and chlorine products as a dangerous reaction may occur.

• When pre-dissolving product always add to water not vice versa.

Handling/Storage

• Handle products in a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors.

• Wash hands after use.

• Ensure chemicals do not become damp in storage - store in cool dry place.
